Domaine Laurent & Karen Boussey is a quintessential family estate with a history spanning five generations. Based in the charming village of Monthelie, Laurent and Karen took the reins in 2003, combining their deep-rooted passion with modern expertise. Today, they manage 15 hectares across 24 different appellations, maintaining a steadfast commitment to traditional, sustainable viticulture.
Their approach is hands-on and meticulous, from manual pruning and disbudding to careful stripping of the leaves to ensure optimal grape maturity. In the cellar, their white wines undergo a gentle pressing followed by low-temperature fermentation to preserve the delicate fruit and "sensual delight" that defines the great whites of Burgundy.

The Wine: Les Meurgers 2023

The "Les Meurgers" vineyard is located on chalky and stony soil, which provides a wonderful balance between richness and mineral complexity. These vines, averaging 50 years of age, give the best expression of the Chardonnay grape.
Colour: A beautiful, deep golden yellow with brilliant green highlights—a classic visual signature of a high-quality Meursault.
Aroma: The nose is elegant and expressive, revealing a layered bouquet of ripe pear, white peach, and citrus zest. As it opens, it develops the signature Meursault notes of toasted almonds, fresh butter, and subtle hints of vanilla and honey.
Taste: On the palate, the wine is rich, luxurious, and perfectly balanced. It offers a mellow, "fat" texture that is lifted by a cheerful acidity. Expect flavours of tree fruits and roasted nuts, leading to a long, distinguished, and incredibly smooth finish.

Food Pairing

A wine of this richness and complexity is a dream for food lovers. Its smooth texture and long acidity make it a perfect partner for:
Classic Pairings: Foie gras, white meats in creamy sauces, or a buttery roast chicken.
Seafood: Grilled lobster, langoustines, or noble fish like turbot or sole meunière.
Gourmet Starters: Potted shrimps or a rich, earthy mushroom risotto.
Cheese: It pairs beautifully with soft, creamy cheeses like Epoisses or a mature Brillat-Savarin.
