From the historic vineyards of Château Vitallis, nestled at the foot of the iconic Rock of Solutré in southern Burgundy, comes a white wine of finesse and terroir expression. The estate, family-run since 1835 under Denis and his son Maxime Dutron, tends 17 hectares of Chardonnay on steep clay-limestone Jurassic soils.
This cuvée is drawn from the estate’s “Les Vignes du Château” parcel – vines averaging 35 years old – and vinified with 30% aged in oak barrels and 70% in temperature-controlled stainless steel. The result is a wine of clarity and depth. On the nose you’ll find hawthorn blossom, acacia and zesty citrus, while the palate opens with crisp stone fruit and evolves into candied lemon finishes with a fresh mineral streak.
This is an ideal aperitif and also a great partner for grilled white fish, shellfish in garlic butter or creamy pasta dishes, and it will reward short-term cellaring. Expressive now, it keeps the elegance of a fine Burgundy while offering exceptional value.
