As the name would suggest, this sparkler from Nantes is made in the Champagne method but “1816 Méthode Traditionelle” certainly doesn’t come with the Champagne price tag. A blend of 70% Chardonnay and 30% Folle Blanche (Picpoul) are blended to create a very fresh and appley glass of fizz. Extremely easy to enjoy by itself on a late summer’s afternoon or, with its zippy acidity, as an accompaniment to fried food.
